Transparent pricing

See what supports the price.

Every value should be easy to question and simple to verify. GhostIndex shows the evidence, the exact variant match, and how much confidence the available market data deserves.

WHAT MATTERS MOST

Completed sales lead. Every detail sharpens the match.

Asking prices can show where sellers hope the market is going, but a completed sale shows what a buyer actually paid. Release, size, parallel, condition, and timing determine whether that sale is a useful comparison.

A value you can understand

VALUE RANGEEXACT MATCH+APPROVED SOLD PRICES+SHIPPING+RECENCY + MARKET DIRECTION

Exact matchThe same release, subject, size, and parallel. Similar ghosts can add context, but they do not become direct comparisons.

All-in buyer costThe guide combines the actual sold price and shipping. Tax is not included. Asking prices remain separate market context.

Current-market centerRecent fixed-price sales and strongly bid auctions influence the range most. Lower-interest auctions remain visible, but are treated more like a quick-sale floor. Every exact sale stays visible; one strong result can widen a range without resetting the market by itself, and multi-sale source rows are labeled as averages. Older evidence fades, while the latest recorded sale stays separate. If no exact sale exists, related-figure estimates are labeled as inferred. Experimental 400% chase estimates remain withheld until same-size chase sales validate them. Any owner market-read label and multiplier are shown, and an exact sale always replaces inference.

Confidence without guesswork

The range widens when the evidence gets thinner.

Every range is an estimate, not a guarantee.

HIGH

Several recent sales agree

Multiple recent sales sit close together, so the guide can show a tighter range with greater confidence.

MEDIUM

Useful evidence, limited depth

The guide has meaningful sales to work with, but not enough recent agreement to make the range especially tight.

LOW

A thin or older market

Only a few sales exist, the prices vary widely, or the available evidence is old. Treat the range as a rough guide.

INFERRED

No direct sale for this exact ghost

The range borrows from closely related sold figures. An inferred method clears our publication test only when at least 80% of later sales land inside its ranges, with no more than 10% below or above them. Until then, its basis is shown plainly instead of being presented as a verified value.

A source link normally proves the reported sale. When an owner-reviewed record establishes the price, any attached marketplace link is labeled only as an item reference. Private payment details and buyer identities are never assumed.

How a sale becomes a comp

Matched first. Evidence reviewed before it counts.

A sale only helps the guide when it can be tied to the right ghost and supported by a public source or a separately labeled owner-confirmed record.

01 · IDENTIFY

Match the exact ghost

Confirm the release, subject, look, size, parallel, and any edition details shown in the source.

02 · OPEN THE SOURCE

Confirm the completed sale

Check that the page identifies a completed transaction with a usable date and price.

03 · CHECK CONDITION

Compare like with like

Separate new, displayed, opened, graded, incomplete, and damaged examples before comparing prices.

04 · REMOVE NOISE

Leave out misleading results

Wrong sizes, bundles, duplicate listings, and unclear matches do not belong in an exact value.

05 · SET CONFIDENCE

Let the evidence set the range

More clean matches support a tighter range. Sparse history keeps the range wider.

06 · KEEP THE RECEIPT

Leave the source attached

Published sales keep their evidence link so collectors can inspect the basis for a value.
